Cultural Notes In traditional Da¶ota culture, the term 'friend' does not have the casual meaning it has in English. One called koda carries great responsibility as this is a person one can depend on no matter what, in a relationship likened to kinship. Kodapi always act with
honor and deep caring toward one another . Due to the significance and responsibility inherent to this term, a person may have only one koda in his/her lifetime.
